Eco Friendly CBD Lip Balm by Eco Lips

CBD Me by Eco Lips

When an eco-forward CBD beauty company reached out about their products, how could I say no? Long known to help muscle stress and aid in relaxation, CBD is the latest green goddess to appear in beauty.

They sent me a selection of three different lip balm from Natural to Lavender Orange and Lavender Mint. I started with the Lavender Orange and I immediately felt the nice hint of orange in a lightly emollient stick balm tinted with essential oils and a very subtle green hint of hemp and lavender.

My favorite, however, was the cooling tingle of peppermint essential oil in the Lavender Mint. All featured 30 mg of broad spectrum CBD paired with certified organic hemp oil, Fair Trade Certified™ cocoa butter and coconut oil for an all-around lip moisturizing experience. Their hemp-derived, broad-spectrum CBD extract is sustainably grown through regenerative agriculture practices and CO2 extracted in Oregon by Klersun. It is thoroughly tested by 3rd party labs to qualify concentration levels. Products contain 0.0% THC. Oh well 😉

They also boast the finest cold-pressed Cannabis Sativa seed oil to deliver a natural balance of essential fatty acids (EFAs) and amino acids which are great for skin care applications.

At only $7.99, it’s a no brainer to try out

Travel Beauty: Natural Hydration from Weleda

Weleda Gardens – Bouxwiller, France

As many of you know, the cleaner the beauty, the better my skin. I’m all about finding the most natural (even better *organic*) beauty and travel products or services on the market. I want farm-to-table and farm-to-face, baby!

Since the 1920s, Weleda’s 50 acres of Biodynamic gardens — The Weleda Biodynamic Gardens in Schwabisch Gmund, Germany – are some of the largest in Europe (with additional farms across Europe!). Their farming principles inspire high-quality products and as a recipient of the UEBT certification for “Sourcing with Respect,” this assures consumers that biodiversity is protected along the company’s supply chain.

So, as one of my favorite brands, Weleda, approaches its 100th anniversary, when I read that they’re introducing a new Sheer Hydration facial line I wanted to share. The new products are formulated with Prickly Pear Cactus Extract from the volcanic soils of Mexico and Aloe Leaf Juice (and you know how much we love Mexico). Fast-absorbing, weightless, breathable moisture leaves skin feeling hydrated for up to 24 hours, so check it out!

Sheer Hydration Daily Dew Lotion ($23.99/ 1.0 fl oz)

This lightweight facial lotion is great for all-day hydration. Ingredients include Prickly Pear Cactus Extract, Aloe Leaf Juice, and Witch Hazel Water. This is great for normal to combination skin.

Sheer Hydration Moisture Mist ($14.99/ 3.4 fl oz)

I call this the “spa mist” because it smells like you’re instantly transported to a spa. Instant spa vibes. Instant hydration. Oil-free, this mist is said to boost skin, leaving it soft for up to 12 hours. Perfect for use before and after makeup application. Key ingredients are in line with the other products in this line: Prickly Pear Cactus Extract, Aloe Leaf Juice, and Witch Hazel Water. Works for all skin types!

Hawaiian Beauty Secret: UA Body Botanical Skin Repair

UA Body’s Botanical Skin Repair

We’re back by popular demand! After giving birth to a baby and taking a break during the Covid-19 pandemic (let’s face it, no one in their right mind was really traveling), it’s time to pick up where we left off and offer our readers some of the beauty tips and travel secrets we’ve learned during this hiatus (both physical and virtual). One of them comes from our home state of Hawaii and we have to support the aina because… Hawaiian pride. Originally created to combat dry, cracking skin from the use of harsh sanitizing liquids, UA Body’s Botanical Skin Repair was made popular by Covid-19 for the use of moisturizing the hands and the face.

But here’s why your homegirl loves it. The smell! Not too strong, but not unscented, they infuse calendula, comfrey, chickweed, and red clover botanicals into sweet almond oil, then blend avocado and shea butters scented with lavender, thyme, sage, rosemary, and healing essential oils to aid in cellular repair. The result is a light, delicious vacation-esque cream that fortifies the skin with true botanical oils without leaving a greasy residue. Think of this as a cream with the potency of a salve.

Because of its high concentration of botanicals as essential oils, you want to avoid putting it on any open cuts or wounds, but it does works really well to soothe eczema, psoriasis, sunburn, bug bites, skin irritations and rashes, dry or flaky skin and skin that has been ripped bare of its natural oils. So, next time you think you need some thick greasy solution to solve your skin woes, think again. This light cream does the trick and makes me long for the days windsurfing Kanaha.

Beautiful Beach Hair… without the Beach

Aquis Waffle Luxe Hair Turban

I’ve been meaning to write about this simple, yet amazing towel for drying hair that is my latest obsession. Say hello to…

AQUIS Lisse Luxe Hair Turban ($30) and the AQUIS Waffle Luxe Hair Turban (Price ($40) which are made with an innovative fabric woven from ultra-fine fibers called AQUITEX. Why is this important? Frizz, my friends. It helps to eliminate what drying your hair with a regular terry cloth towel produces. The lightweight material has superior water-wicking capabilities that is gentle on your hair. The Lisse is designed for delicate hair, while the Waffle is designed for thicker hair. Either one you choose, these turbans quickly and gently dry to a damp stage, with less friction, minimizing damage. I have curly hair so I love the fact that I can run my fingers through my hair to ‘comb’ it while in the shower, apply product and wrap. My hair has definitely been less frizzy and it’s so much easier than trying to tie a towel on my head.
